Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Indian citizens, including Nepalese Gorkhas
- Marital Status: Unmarried men and women
- Age Limit: 21 to 27 years as on 01 January 2026 (Born between 02 January 1999 and 01 January 2005, both dates inclusive)
- Educational Qualification:
- LLB Degree (3-year or 5-year) with minimum 55% marks
- Must be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India or State
- CLAT PG 2025 score mandatory for all candidates, including those pursuing or holding LLM
Selection Process
- Application & Shortlisting:
- Candidates must submit online applications at joinindianarmy.nic.in
- Shortlisting based on CLAT PG 2025 score; no application fee
- SSB Interview:
- 5-day process conducted at Allahabad, Bhopal, Bangalore, or Kapurthala
- Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test & Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT)
- Stage II: Psychology Tests, Group Tasks, Personal Interview, and Conference
- Medical Examination: For candidates recommended in SSB
- Merit List & Joining:
- Merit list prepared based on SSB marks only
- CLAT PG 2025 score used only for shortlisting
- Joining letters issued as per merit and vacancy availability
Training & Commission
- Rank on Commission: Lieutenant
- Stipend during Training: ₹56,100 per month
- Pay Scale (7th CPC Level 10): ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
- Military Service Pay: ₹15,500 per month
- Allowances: As per Indian Army rules (including uniform, transport, field area allowances)
- Tenure: 10 years (extendable up to 14 years)
- Permanent Commission: Eligible after 10 years of service, subject to performance and policy
