Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 17.5 years
• Maximum Age: 21 years as on 31 December 2026
• Born between: 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (inclusive)

Marital Status

• Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
• Candidates must not marry during the four-year service period.
• Female candidates must not get pregnant during the engagement period.

Educational Qualification

For Science Subjects (X Group):

• Passed 10+2/Intermediate with Mathematics, Physics & English with 50% aggregate and 50% in English
  OR
• Three-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, CS, IT, Instrumentation) with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English in diploma or 10th/12th
  OR
• Two-year Vocational Course with Physics and Math with 50% aggregate and 50% in English

For Other Than Science Subjects (Y Group):

• Passed 10+2/Intermediate in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English
  OR
• Two-year Vocational Course from COBSE-recognized board with 50% in aggregate and 50% in English (in vocational course or 10th/12th)

Candidates eligible for Science Group can also appear for Non-Science Group.

Physical Standards

Height

• Male: Minimum 152.5 cm
• Female: Minimum 152 cm (relaxable to 147 cm for NE/Uttarakhand hills, 150 cm for Lakshadweep)

Chest

• Male: Minimum 77 cm with 5 cm expansion
• Female: Proportionate with 5 cm expansion

Weight: Proportionate to height and age
Hearing: Normal (able to hear forced whisper from 6 meters)
Dental: Healthy gums, 14 dental points minimum
Note: Candidates who have undergone PRK/LASIK are not eligible.

Selection Process

Phase I: Online Exam (CBT)

• Science Subjects: English, Physics, Mathematics
• Other Than Science Subjects: English, Reasoning, General Awareness (RAGA)
• Both Groups: English, Physics, Mathematics, RAGA
• Objective Type | Negative Marking: 0.25 for each wrong answer

Phase II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT-I & II)

• Male: 1.6 km run in 7 min, 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 20 squats
• Female: 1.6 km run in 8 min, 10 sit-ups (1 min 30 sec), 15 squats
