Eligibility Criteria (As on 01 July 2026):

General Duty (GD):

  • Gender: Male
  • Age Limit: 21–25 years
  • Date of Birth: 01 July 2001 to 30 June 2005 (inclusive)
  • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree with 60% marks, with Maths and Physics in 10+2 or Diploma with same subjects
  • Final-Year Students: Eligible (must submit degree by 31 October 2026)

Technical (Engineering / Electrical/Electronics):

  • Gender: Male
  • Age Limit: Same as GD
  • Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial & Production, Metallurgy, Design, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Communication, Power Engineering, Power Electronics (with 60% marks)
  • Must have Maths & Physics in 10+2 or Diploma with the same subjects
  • AMIE-qualified and diploma+degree holders are also eligible

Medical Standards:

  • Height: Minimum 157 cm (relaxation for hilly/tribal candidates)
  • Vision:
    • GD: 6/6 & 6/9 without glasses
    • Technical: 6/36 uncorrected, 6/6 corrected
  • Tattoos: Permitted only on inner forearms or dorsal hand (non-tribals)

Selection Process: 5 Stages

Stage-I: CGCAT (Computer-Based Test)

  • Objective-type CBT
  • 100 Questions (25 each): English, Reasoning & Numerical Ability, General Science & Math Aptitude, General Knowledge
  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Medium: English
  • Negative Marking: –1 per wrong answer
  • Normalization of marks applied

Stage-II: PSB (Preliminary Selection Board)

  • Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT)
  • Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT)
  • Biometric verification & Document checking
  • Conducted at 6 Zonal Centers

Stage-III: FSB (Final Selection Board)

  • Psychological Test, Group Tasks, Personal Interview
  • Held at Noida (Coast Guard Selection Board)

Stage-IV: Medical Examination

  • Conducted at Special Medical Board (SMB), Delhi
  • Appeal and Review Medical Exam allowed

Stage-V: Final Induction

  • Based on combined marks from CGCAT and FSB
  • Final Joining at INA Ezhimala in January 2027

Training Details:

  • Location: Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala
  • Duration:
    • GD Branch: 44 Weeks
    • Technical Branch: 22 Weeks
  • Unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination
