About Exam:
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Consortium of NLUs for admission to 5-year integrated BA LL.B. (UG) and 1-year LL.M. (PG) programs. CLAT scores are accepted by 24+ National Law Universities (NLUs) and several other private and public law colleges in India. The exam is conducted offline, is two hours long, and consists of 120 multiple-choice questions.

Eligibility Criteria
UG (BA LL.B. 5-Year Integrated Programme)
- Passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent from a recognized board
- Minimum Marks:
- General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI: 45%
- SC/ST: 40%
- Appearing Candidates: Eligible if appearing in 2026
PG (LL.M. 1-Year Programme)
- LL.B. or equivalent degree from a recognized university in India
- Minimum Marks:
- General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI: 50%
- SC/ST/PwD: 45%
- Appearing Candidates: Eligible if appearing in 2026

- Marking Scheme: +1 for correct answer, -0.25 for wrong answer
UG Exam Sections and Weightage
- English Language – 20% (450-word comprehension passages)
- Current Affairs & General Knowledge – 25% (national & international events, arts, history, culture)
- Legal Reasoning – 25% (450-word legal passages, constitutional law, criminal law, torts)
- Logical Reasoning – 20% (300-word passages, arguments, inferences, reasoning)
- Quantitative Techniques – 10% (graphs, tables, arithmetic, percentages, profit & loss)
PG Exam Syllabus
- Passage-based questions from Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Corporate Law, Criminal Law, and Torts.
Selection Process
- Based on CLAT 2026 score and All India Rank (AIR)
- Candidates select NLU preferences during counselling
- Tie-Breaking Criteria:
- Higher marks in Legal Reasoning
- Higher age
- Lottery (if required)
How to Fill CLAT 2026 Online Form
- Visit the official CLAT website consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
- Register with name, mobile number, and email to generate login credentials.
- Fill personal, academic, and communication details in the application form.
- Upload scanned photograph, signature, and category/domicile certificate (if applicable).
- Select up to three preferred exam centers.
- Pay the application fee online before 31 October 2025.
- Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.
